Dr Gregory Powell

BIOGRAPHY
Dr Gregory Powell was formerly a schoolteacher for thirty-five years and a senior manager in the eLearning Online team for Victorian schools specialising in ICT and software use. He was a university lecturer for 17 years after completing his MSc and PhD degrees. As president of West Bourke Books Inc both he and his committee wrote many of the local histories of the Romsey Shire and surrounding townships.
After retiring from university, he studied Biomedical Science and Medicine. He is a passionate, lifelong learner with further degrees in the Arts, Education, Creative Writing, Computing, Leadership and Administration.
Greg is a collector of Japanese art, sculpture, furniture and books and is a 5th degree Black belt in Shotokan Karate. He has built a Japanese garden around his home. Greg’s other interests include human evolution and archaeology of ancient Japan, Africa, South America and Australia. He is a former President of the Romsey Lancefield Rotary Club Inc. and he continues to serve his local community.
Now fully retired he has gone back to his first love of writing and illustrating children and teenage fiction. He has lived with his family in the Macedon Ranges for 36 years.
